About Us

The Fairfax County Police Explorer Program is for teens 14-21 who are interested in a career in law enforcement (LE) or related Criminal Justice field. Explorers gain awareness of the Criminal Justice system through training, practical experiences, competition, and community outreach activties (e.g. Special Olympics Fundraising, Crime Prevention Demonstations, etc.) and many more. Our program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship, and patriotism. Explorers learn leadership, disicipline, professionalism, and team building; in a fun, supportive environment.  

Minimum qualifications include: 2.0 GPA, 14-21 years of age, be of good moral character, be able to attend meetings (2X a month on Mondays 6:00pm-9:00pm), training (mostly on weekends), and community events (after school and on weekends), and be able to participate in fundraising activites.


We accept applications once a year in September; please check our main page beginning in September for more information!
